Follow the steps to run it: Click right on the Start menu button and select Command Prompt (Admin) Type the given command and hit Enter sfc/scannow. Install Dll File Windows 10
Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 - McAfee running since day one.
I've had an issue for a while where some Windows updates work but not all. I've run SFC and found the following:
'...Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]'cryptsvc.dll' of Microsoft-Windows-cryptsvc-dll, Version = 6.0.6002.18643, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch'
The file in Windowssystem32 has a zero length and a modified date of 6/1/2012 which is long before the update issue started. In a restore partition that came with the computer I have found a copy of cryptsvc.dll but it is version 6.0.6000.16386. I have another zero length copy and a manifest file in Windowswinsxsx86_microsoft-windows-cryptsvc-dll_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6002.18643_none_77bddd9098134535 also dated 6/1/2012. I have several other copies the most recent being version 6.002.22869 in C:Windowswinsxsx86_microsoft-windows-cryptsvc-dll_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6002.22869_none_7837de25b13bb212 dated 6/2/2012.
This is an older computer and I would prefer not to start from scratch if I can just copy the original or newer file to windowssystem32 and maybe reregister but I've had major issues in the past trying to manually patch a single dll without also replacing a bunch of associated dlls with ones of the same vintage. I don't know what associated dlls might be involved and I see at least 3 that were last modified the same day that cryptsvc supposedly became corrupt.
So what do I need to do to make this 'simple' fix?
How To Repair Dll Files
Thanks.
